West Ham (H) Post Match Thread

I was nervous going into the game. Thought we might struggle tonight because of fatigue and the missing players

We were a bit flat at times but in the end deserved winners

The 3 points was much more important than the performance or the score line under the circumstances

Although I’m not sure how much Pellers or West Ham really wanted to get anything out of the game. 20 mins to go and he puts Zab on to get his standing ovation. That change was never gonna get them an equaliser. Cheers Manuel

My feeling first half was that it was David Silva taking the space Leroy needed to be at his most dangerous. Silva slowed it down too much by taking too many touches. However as the game progressed Sane could have worked much harder to find space and influence the game. In the end he was rightfully subbed.
 
sergio looks absolutely fucked, desperately in need of a rest, kev not been at his best either and sane and mahrez poor but a wins a win
 
Good performance that, just wasn’t matched by the finishing or last ball quality.

We’ve played worse than that and won 3-0/3-1 (Fulham, Southampton, Everton).

20 shots tonight, and I bet about another eight or nine chances where if the pass had been better we’d have created more shots.

Liverpool had 19 shots tonight and won 5-0

We should have hammered the Hammers!
 
How bad a footballer is Andy Carroll by the way. Really shocking.
 
I thought in general we played well, especially considering we’d played a Cup final 3 days earlier, we were just unlucky with the finishing and should have been out of sight. Of course, that then creates the issue as we are all well aware the opposition are going to get a sniff at some point, an I’d guess MP knew full well we’d run out of steam near the end.

Feel really sorry for Mahrez, the guy’s confidence is shot to pieces, he does everything wrong, wrong pass, wrong run, etc etc

Leroy is just lazy, him and Mahrez were both guilty of not attacking the fullbacks - the minute both Raz and Bernie came on their fullbacks shat themselves.

Every time Sané got the ball they triple teamed him. Silva and Kev were just not freeing up any space. If Sané’s got three men in a triangle blocking off every running angle, that meant there was space elsewhere but our midfield weren’t making the most of that.

Other than that we did alright yeah. Still created loads of opportunities.

Mahrez poor.

Sane - don’t know what happened at h/t but he was poor in the first half but just completely disinterested from the first minute of the second.

D Silva looks way off the pace.

KdB better second half once Raz came on.

Big plaudits to Zinks, Danilo and Gundog who were all excellent and to Vince and The General who looked so composed
 
Overall a very good performance,another day with better finishing we win 5-0 no bother.

Something thats worrying/annoying me is Leroys attitude and body language, shite! Took a couple of tackles off the right back and he didn’t fancy it at all after that. Snap out of it Leroy soon because I think Pep is starting to get pissed off with him
