West Ham (H) Post Match Thread

Not pretty, but we have had a serious run of tiring games. A win is all that matters.
Really poor display by Mahrez, his attitude when he walked off was awful, like he didn’t give a monkeys. He should never be chosen over Bernardo, EVER!
Sane wasn’t much better, and was right to be subbed.
On a plus side, we controlled the game well and moved it around, but yet again we are ridiculously wasteful in-front of goal. We seem insistent on walking the ball into the goal or scoring from inside the 6 yard box.
Good game for Gundog, it was an easy pace for him and not too much pressure.
Zinch has a couple of brain farts, and against more competent opponents will be really punished.
Danilo has a decent run out and deserved his place today.
KDB & Merlin are probably shattered, and could do with a rest.

Onwards Blues. One game at a time. Fcuk everyone else and their results. Ours are what matters.
Beat who we have in front of us and let them worry.

Like he was vs Chelsea?

Both full backs had great games. Danilo offers so much more going forward than Walker it's not even funny. Hard watch though and the big chance for them did come. Zinch badly caught out for there.

It's always a hard watch at 1 - 0. We all still have that nagging feeling that the other fucking team are going to spawn it.
Either from a set piece or an aberration from one of our players.

We have to give West Ham credit, even if we were looking tired and did squander our chances, with one too many passes in their final third, when a shot should have come. Our players were waiting and waiting for them to give up some space but it never came, needed a top corner special but we had to settle for a penalty(was a pen in my book, soft to some but not Salah soft), their defensive line seemed to catch us offside more often than many teams manage too.

Yes; it’s been overlooked how well west ham actually defended and I don’t mean the usual shite of just putting bodies behind the ball but well timed tackles and good positioning. We as fans seem to have lost the art of recognizing or appreciating opposition play over the last few years and that’s probably because we’ve been hypnotized most of the time watching sensational football

A tired and at times lacklustre performance. Some of of passing was unusually wayward. We’ve had 3 very tough games in a week, so let’s just ponder on that for a moment; and then realise we’ve come through all of them. We had a few of this type of game last season as well. West Ham frustrated us, but we never stopped playing our game. A deserved victory in the end. The results are all that matter now.

And yet our pass completion was almost bang on our average for the season.

Fucking atrocious performance.

We were asking for a draw tonight but we get to quickly forget about tonight and move on.

Saturdays game is a cup final now.
Pep and Kev disagree listen to their post match interviews...not like you to go overboard though is it ;-)

Need to get Kompany and Otamendi in the ice baths after that. They were both tiring from around the 8oth minute, and that was without them having been put under too much pressure; you could see they were becoming less and less willing to make angles for passes as the minutes ticked down. They'll need plenty of rest as Bournemouth will press them with greater intensity.

A lot of people either do not choose their words carefully or have no perspective. If the team or a player is not at their scintillating best, they get called poor or worse, when by comparison to most players, they are far from poor.

It wasn’t a poor performance it was a test, easily the better team but the early chances didn’t convert... mix in a few ineffective perfrmances and there is scope for panic leading to points dropped either due to mistakes or impatience. So the initiative is then handed to the manager and he nailed it... decisive, brave and enough time to make the team believe and more importantly the opposition believe we could carry out our objective playing the game in our own way.

Mahrez might have done himaself some harm with that performance... And was he being a twat when he came off too? Wasnt too happy? Maybe I liked to imagine it.

Bernard and Sterling saved the day as far as I am concerned... but Zinchenko Motm, closely followed by Aguerro
