Lingard to his credit has top class movement off the ball. It's largely why Southgate was so infatuated with him (along with Sterling and Alli) at the world cup back when he was in his basketball phase of management. I wonder if there is something seriously lacking in the coaching at OT, or the way they are organised. They've had quite a few players who have looked poor there but gone on to better things. There's no getting away from the fact that they've signed a lot of decent players, players who we were otherwise in for and who under Pep or Klopp would look like world-beaters, who have stagnated there. I don't know if it's just management or coaching or the whole setup, but it's killing careers and goes beyond the current manager.
