West Ham (H) - Post-Match Thread

Walker isn't as good as people keep making out. He has pace and that's it.

Cancelo and Laporte seem to be continously in the book.

Sterling seems to be a lot better now that's he's scored a couple and is getting a run in the team.

We were very good for a spell just before half time with the pitch full of snow.

West Ham fans were right, our fans are embarrassing with that shit show on a light display. I know it was probably kids but they're parents should be banned for letting them do it
The West Ham fans were embarrassing. Couldn't sell out their 2,900 allocation today but slagged our fans off. We took 6,000 to their place for a midweek League Cup match just a few weeks ago. I thought they were pathetic and classless actually. Slagging the atmosphere at the Etihad. FFS it's a cauldron compared to their place.

Surprised ?

To be fair away fans always take the piss, as we do regularly, why worry ?

They really should be embarrased by that 10 minute song about a player we couldn't give a shit about who is actually in custody anyway.

Sorry to hear that.
All the WHU I knew that traveled over the yrs were a tight knit set of decent lads.
Maybe a sign of the times?.

Good win against a tough team to break down and in these conditions. If we had taken our chances could have been more but happy with the 3 points and special mention to the groundstaff getting the pitch cleared for the 2nd half.
That sums it up. I note a few posters have mentioned our exertions against PSG midweek but West Ham won 2-0 in Vienna in the Thursday league. Their opponents might not have the skill of PSG but they were playing a team that is very fast.

It was a good performance against a very well organised side. It could have been more of course, but a mix of good defending and a bit of bad luck meant we only got 2 and it will have annoyed the defence we didn't get a clean sheet especially after defending so well for 93 minutes.

Given the efforts against PSG and a having a somewhat depleted squad we still looked a cut above, our ball retention was superb given the conditions, with once again Gundo and Rodri to the fore. I do have to say what a player Declan Rice is, he is top class and has the ability to make the game look very simple.

I thought Sterling continued his return to form and was always a threat, he also did a lot of defensive work doubling up to help Cancelo with Johnson who looks a great prospect at RB. Its good to see. Laporte did drop off if the ball was aimed at Antonnio, which is very sensible. If you have one centre half attacking the ball and one moping up any flicks then threats are dealt with and Antonnio had a very quiet afternoon. The Moyasiah's teams are functional rather than expressive and we were better than them. With Chelsea dropping a point, it was a decent afternoon for us.

We now have a run of very winnable games, hopefully we repeat what we did last season and go a run of victories and in the New Year we could be in a great position to retain the title.

Chelsea dropped 2
