Crikey , good to see another weather expert imposing a humour bi pass on this thread. Off to work , will drive most of the day as it pays the bills , City remains a largely fun hobby which doesn't pay the bills, just that.

He slid through all the surface water to celebrate his goal.

I can't believe that there are still some people moaning about the game being called off. It was the correct call to make and it's irrelevant that Sheffield played their game. There was a game at Leigh called off in the Women's league as was every other game in that league. Everton Ladies game was at Goodison, another premier league ground, so were they stupid as well? Give it up lads and lasses, it was the correct call.

The forecasts proved to be correct. City now have a fixture problem, and added to that Laporte loses a valuable opportunity to get game-time under his belt.

The decision to postpone the game was absolutely the correct one. The possibility of conditions being benign at KO were largely irrelevant; the safety of travelling supporters was what was important.

The postponement should ideally have been announced earlier than it was. We couldn't wait to see what happened on that score and made the decision not to travel without knowing if the game would go ahead.

As I drove out of our drive this morning, I noted a branch a few feet long and a couple of inches in diameter embedded like a javelin in our neighbour's lawn, which must have come from one of the trees in our garden. Clearly no harm done but I'd hate to think what damage a branch like that would do spearing a person or a car windshield.

That branch probably fell when the storm-front passed over Manchester a good three hours and more before the game was due to kick off, and when most people were set to travel.
