West Ham - Post match thread

My first time watching the three amigo's playing (Sterling, Sane and Jesus), that was truly amazing.

My excitement for watching City is definitely back, the same feelings as the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons. Something electric is in the air.

Well done team, well done Pep; made some big calls & they paid off.

When we take our chances we look good - just need to find some level on consistency in being this clinical & we'll be looking strong to get top 4.

And mine. Everywhere, and with beautiful balance and poise. Solid in the tackle and still pressing on the edge of theri box on 85 mins. Where the fuck he's got his fitness from is anyones guess but he ran the show tonight for the full 90mins. 10/10

Pehaps he's been 'somewhere else' when the testers have been around ;)

Bob was there tonight & if he gets a club he will be after Yaya straight away.

The team play was so much better when Aguero is out. At least in this match. He's been having trouble finishing. Maybe he needs to take a powder for a while. It will be interesting how Pep works him into the lineup going forward.

Much more like it. Can't beat a bit of pace in a side. Don't want to see that other clown in goal again. Willy whilst not the greatest keeper is far better than him. Pity pep took so long to see it. Should be able to put a decent run together now. Not over yet.

Thought it was really interesting to see how we went from the fullbacks coming into a narrow midfield in Pep's first game to sending the fullbacks long and Silva and KDB heading into pseudo-fullback positions to pick up the ball with room to play in this game.

At times, the fluidity is amazing to see, and on the break it is hard to know where the ball is going and who might score. It's like three card Monte with a potential goal under each card...Sane, Jesus and Sterling.

It is good to see the interplay, but every now and then, I would LOVE to see one of them be a smidge greedy and crack one in with his first or second touch, rather than always looking inside for a pass.

Last observation...even though the game was over before he came on, it felt very much like this team, and its movement, has bypassed Sergio. I would have bet money that he was going to be liquid gold this season under Pep, but he just doesn't have the fitness or workrate or maybe it is desire (?) to look anywhere close to the theee Tasmanian Devils that have played on the frontline for the past few games. Average age...ALMOST 21! Fucking scary to see what they might be able to do with the kind of service provided by Silva, KDB and Yaya and some games together under their belt.

A lot more to come from Kun I am sure of that but if we look towards a Griezmann or another key goalscorer then Kun might be moved on.

We need three top goal scorers if we are to make inroads into trophies.

Fantastic performance, City. No team could live with us playing football like that.

The whole team played well, but my MotM was Sané. He was breathtaking.

You can tell the writing's on the wall for Aguero when Pep talks about our front three tonight. "So much pace", "Jesus is a fighter, he helps with our high pressing".

In contrast, Aguero is losing pace and is far too passive at times. I think if he isn't already, Jesus will very soon be our outright first choice striker. The all important breakthrough De Bruyne goal doesn't happen if Aguero's playing, because he would never make that return pass. Gabriel Jesus already has more assists than Aguero this season, not just in the Premier League, but all competitions too. We look much more of a team without Aguero.

That front 3 is unreal.

sounds like your writing off aguero already. hes still one of our best players. and one of the best in the league.

Fabulous performance Blues. Everyone's raving about Jesus (and it was a great performance), but for me Sane man of the match tonight; their young right back (Byram) will be having nightmares for the rest of the week. From 1 to 11 City were excellent tonight. Now we need to do it against a Swansea side that won't be anything like as open as WHU were tonight, no doubt parking the bus.
