West Ham - Post match thread

Peps style of play is only beginning to grate on the team, scary to think how good it'll become when the jigsaw puts itself together!

Media football (soccer) blackout on the lunchtime news today.
It was either because Winston Reid's West Ham got "hammered" by Manchester City, or their other 'darling' team Manchester United could only manage a draw with Hull.

The Caroll challenge was poor. Rodwell did similar yesterday and got away with it.

They are red cards. It's deliberate and to cause harm.

But then that's what West Ham resorted to, they couldn't touch us in a footballing sense so decided to kick fuck out if us, unpunished.

We get booked for breathing on someone.

It was a violent challenge and should have seen at least a yellow card but then again, Friend had decided very early on that West Ham could kick us to fuck so wasnt that surprised when it went ignored.

Did you see the challenge on Raheem?

Not even a foul apparently pmsl.
Yeah that was also a booking for sure.

But if someone the size and weight of Andy Carroll hits you from behind like that when you're not expecting it, it's genuinely dangerous.

Just watched the BBC interview with pep, Im glad he hit back at the interviewer for saying the West Ham mistakes lead to the goals, as it was our pressing that made the West Ham lads make the error. The stupid **** also called sane, mane.....ffs

Completely agree mate but i dont expect any protection these days from any of the refs.

I see the 'rule' about getting a yellow card for making a card gesture, is now back.

After many months of players at every club in the country getting away with it in every game.

'Might be alright in Brazil..' says Glen.

That front five of Silva, De Bruyne, Sane, Sterling and Jesus was just unplayable tonight. West Ham let us play and didn't put pressure on the ball but I don't think anyone could have stopped us the way we played in fairness.

Sane just plays like someone has created him as a player on FIFA, it should be impossible to be that big, strong, quick and have such incredible technique.
So silky!

Silva looks like the silkiest player I have ever seen in a City shirt, but Sane may run him close. Throw in height, pace, goals and that kid...and in footballing terms that is exactly what he is...could be an unbelievable asset.

As another poster said, his willingness to hustle and harry help complete him as a team player and I think THAT FACTOR is what is going to help define the new young guns who are bloodied in this team. It is not always easy to teach the old dogs new tricks, especially if those tricks involve more dirty work than they are used to. However, when you are out scouting young talent, you see they either do or they don't BEFORE you invest in them. That's the way forward, and it showed in spades for all three players in the front line today.

If I could make a single negative observation, it would be that when we brought on our subs, we COMPLETELY LOST our flow in the middle of the park. But, wwhen you start to take off the likes of Silva, KDB and Sterling it is nearly impossible not to miss their quality. (Shît, that could be the first time I have ever included Sterling in a sentence with the words "Silva and KDB" and "quality!" That boy is gonna make a liar of me if he keeps showing up and getting two assists every game, and a goal here or there!)

However, it is hard to come away from that performance with any negatives.

The future is Blue!
