West Ham - Post match thread

In five years time, Silva, Touré, Nasri, Hart, Aguero, Zabaleta, Kompany and Fernandindo will all be done or close to done at the top level.
Also in five years time De Bruyne, Jesus, Sterling, Sané, Iheanacho, Stones and Gundogan will be in the prime of their careers.

Swings and roundabouts.

no chance Hoddle said because their pitch is bigger than any other
Nevin was the same on the BBC Web site.
It's all bollocks the majority of PL pitches are Uefa standard Suze 105m * 68m.0nly a few are smaller - Stoke and Spurs are 66m wide ( for example). All have to comply ASAP.

Already looking forward to Sunday, should be a good game vs Swans.
And before anybody slides in with a pfft, or a pah, they won at Anfield recently it won't be easy.

Brilliant performance tonight but let's not get too ahead of ourselves.
We played a team we always seem to beat. How many teams have we played or will play that are as open as west ham. That front 3 is amazing but against a parked bus type team will not have it so easy. So I don't expect it will always be the first choice selection by pep.
Just like certain people on pre match thread V spurs and hammers tonight, though yaya on his own in defence midfield would be found out, it's horses for courses. Pep will change his selection again to match opponents, I hope.

thoroughly enjoyed that!

i know west ham were shite but im gonna say we made them look like shite tonight.

our speed of thought, skill levels, workrate, desire, energy, calmness, ball retention, possession, & concentration. it was all there.

we arent the finished article i know, but fuck me, we are getting glimpses this season of what the future will hopefully look like, and im liking it a lot!
Bang on mate.

Funny how people hear different things in commentary and focus on the negatives.

I noticed the commentator praising our 'sumptuous' football in the first half and I was loving it.

Didn't think BT were that bad, a couple of the main commentators comments aside. Any more praise and it would have been sycophancy.

Great performance. The front three were excellent, but I also thought Toure in the deep lying role was superb.
Yaya, Silva and KDB controlled the game allowing our superb front three to run riot.

Much more solid at the back today, Willy has done more than enough to keep his place.

We are the best team in this league by a country mile, need to sort the consistency out and we will absolutely fly.

The fella has energised the whole squad - esp Sane

great midweek this - might even pop talksport on now for a bit, just to top things off

Please tell me Sane was official man of the match? Immense. I'm seriously excited about our front three.

Bravo

Sagna Otta Kola Clichy

Yaya

Raheem Silva KDB Sane

Jesus/Kun (could be either, would be happy with any)

Subs: Willy (maybe deserves a start), VK (a day to early for him I think), Stones, Ferna (Yaya playin to well to drop), Delph, Nolito, Kun/Jesus.

IF we get a goal in the first 20 minutes can see us playing some lovely football and winning comfortably, need to be well disciplined as they will target set pieces and balls into the box. Think however though we will score early and dominate the midfield. Sane and Raheem to run them ragid and get 2/3 assists between them.

0-4 - Kun, KDB, Jesus & Yaya

I was pretty much perfect bar a couple in the starting line up and one scorer, throught we were excellent all over the park, the movement and pace going forward is frightening, gives arguably the best 2 creative players in the league so much to aim at. Toure again oozed class and the back 5 good when called upon and very composed, subs worked hard.

Sane for me MOTM the kid is electric and so dangerous but has a great work etchic. Closely followed by Jesus. More of the same on Sunday.

On a side note as well thought we were very disciplined, could have been easy to leave a few late ones in or get caught up with a few of their players when they seemed to be getting away with a lot of bookings.

As someone on here once told me, self praise is no praise at all, so I have the chance to pass it on.
Should have gone to the bookies pre-match fella

The key to any season is timing your good run. We could quite easily go on a ten game winning run with the youth and pace of our wonderful front three. Chelsea will have a dip but more importantly for me is we are seeing a glimpse into a Pep team. Replace the fullbacks and Yaya even though I'm chuffed he's having an Indian summer and watch us go - Tonight we were excellent and lets hope they feel it too.
Maffeo is coming back to be our long term right back. It's at left back where we need to sign a worldy.

Jesus is adaptable and versatile (can play midfield or anywhere in attack) and from what I've seen so far his natural position looks like left side of a front three - a bit like Robinho (who gave us all a massive lift)....... but a better player. Sane also specialises in that left side of a front three position but in a more direct style. We've now got more quality players than positions available. Fantastic problem for Pep. 18 in 24 for Sergio under Pep. Delivers under the ultimate pressure.

The 18 goals have mostly come against fodder tho. Sergio was given a huge kick up the are tonight and by the look on his face he very much knew it. It's a kick up the arse he has needed for a very long time
