Yes we are, never been a fan of big sam before but now he's bought two of our biggest balls ups - I'd definitely buy him a pint.

Downing will do well when he's got less pressure, perfect move for all involved I think

I really don't see you as that far ahead of us now days, Liverpool a top 7 club, west ham a top 10 and catching up, Olympic stadium will push us further. How can the previous poster think we will struggle when we've kept our best players, signed Carroll, have Morrison back and there will be further signings, we are strengthening.

Last season Sunderland, Newcastle, Southampton and Norwich all finished below you, none of them will this year. Then there are stoke, villa and Fulham who could go either way.

You won't go down but you will still be in a relegation battle in the middle of April.

I wouldn't put any money on Newcastle finishing above West Ham.

Not signing the likes of Downing you won't...he's a bit like Adebayour - only tries when you threaten to transfer him...

This is why I think we're ahead of you....

So you've beaten us once since 2010 , well done, previous results don't mean shit. We are not that far behind Liverpool at this moment, we have a strong unit and are well balanced at the moment unlike yourselves

I've quoted that for posterity, we'll re-visit it later in the season pal - best of luck.

Honestly hope I'm proven wrong and Liverpool can finish top 4 over spurs... Can't see it but one can hope

Downing,Carroll,Jarvis and players like this are holding West Ham back.
Get a continental manager in with somebody who knows about foreign players, Get playing football.

Your telling me you can't find a better striker in europe for £15 million than Andy Carroll?

Lazy scouting!

Holding us back ? Since Big Sam has come in we got promoted first time and finished in the top 10 first season back in the prem, the progress made thanks to him and the owners is nothing short of a miracle

Jarvis is one of the best crossers in the prem and Carroll is one of the best target men there is, if they were called Jarvinho and Carrolista you would judge them differently - I certainly don't think there are many strikers around that can play as a lone striker , hold the ball up, feed Nolan time after time like Carroll - he proved how vital he was last season and ensured our safety so that fee pays for itself, why take a risk and buy some foreign player for the sake of saving 5 mill

How much did Liverpool sign Carroll Henderson and Downing for again?
And wasnt John Barnes the first player in England to be paid 10 grand a week?
And out of interest when was the last time Liverpool brought a player through there youth who established a place in the team like say Richards or at least forged a career somewhere else in the premier league like Onouha Wright Phillips or Sturridge?
Or the last time they bought a player from the lower leagues and turned them into an international like we did with Hart?
Its never been about the money at Liverpool has it mate
