West Ham United (A) | Post-Match Thread

The players always give a good account to themselves so I will take the draw from the defeat we were facing at half time.

The only observation I may whisper with a very hushed tone is maybe Allison is tiny bit better then Ederson overall!
I don’t know if anyone agrees to this
Much better keeper, but a terrible footballer. Wouldn’t be able to do what Eddie does for us. Put him under pressure and he panics.

Eddie can occasionally make bizarre decisions but when our defenders are doing what they ought to be doing, there is no keeper out there that suits our game any better.

VAR did his job on one, the first one you can argue it needed VAR to get that call correct. He never let Antonio falling down get the better of him and the yellow for the keeper with 30 to go was what should be the standard
That's a very low bar you're judging him by. He needed VAR to bail him out on the second - what does that say about his judgement in real time ?

I'm disappointed with the result, like many. However, i'm happy it remains in our hands.
Jack's best game for us.
No Gundogan no MF organization and structure, forget about KdB passes, Bernardo's energy and Rodri's stamina, it's Gundo who holds everything together.
Laporte is somehow putting together a conference league and the world class defending in the same game. Everybody is slagging off Aleks, but it is Laporte fucking everything up. I know he's been injured, but his reading of the ball is sub-Eric Garcia this season.
I am happy with this result, everything is in our hands.
I am very disappointed with this result, because we fuck it up every time that option is left to us.
And please City, DO NOT FUCKING EVEN THINK ABOUT SELLING JESUS!

We have had a fair number of discussions about our profligacy in both the men's and women's team this season. Let's hope we don't have any in the next one!
I'm firming up the opinion that of the missed chances we've had this season, Alfie's lad is gonna clean up half of them!

Just the women to sort out then. Hope you're right about Haaland, he can certainly shoot on target and appears to be strong and not easily shoved off the ball. I am quite excited to see how he does.

Absolutely, terrible game management from Pep today. Players looked fucked all game and had little left in the tank at the end, so yes Foden and Sterling and a good case for Gundogan to come on and freshen it up never materialised. Only Pep knows the reasoning behind it though

Having calmed down and giving it some thought. From previous experience, I think it is quite easy to tell which players are going to miss a penalty by the look on their face as they put the ball down. Mahrez's face had all the characteristics of someone who was not at all comfortable taking it. Really just don't understand why he's taking that kick with the form KDB has been in of late.
Mahrez looked like he was about to go into the dentists chair for root canal treatment

How we had 75% possession and were losing 0-2 at half time is quite unbelievable , when West Ham went to Klanfield they had three one on ones in the 2nd half and missed them all , they have two against us and they are clinical.
We were pedestrain in the first half but whatever Pep said at half time worked a treat , and we should have taken three points.
The Dippers can celebrate our penalty miss for the next few days , its the hope that will kill them though.
