West Ham United (A) | Sun 7th Aug | Post Match Thread

Good overall performance. Not quite at our scintillating best and bits of sloppiness at times but pretty much to be expected for the first real game of the season.

Rodri was outstanding and Haaland took his goals well. Solid rather than spectacular from the rest of the team.

Bodes well for the future as we get used to playing with a 9 and he gets used to playing with us.

Blimey bbc now calling for Erling to be fined
Erling Haaland has just dropped some blue language in his interview with Sky, describing missing out on a hat-trick as a bit... well, you can have a guess.

Upon being asked to mind his language, he accidentally said it again in exclamation.

Don't know if City have a fines system like Steven Gerrard has instilled at Villa, but that's gonna be costly to him if so.

He should say he has Tourettes and sue them for discrimination!

Well ladies and gents we have a new king…..

A lot to admire on his league debut, some lovely passing into feet, give and goes, and positioning for through balls (that didn’t arrive!!). Once he’s on the same wavelength as the rest of the team, he’s going to be a killer…..

Overall a great team performance although I was a little frustrated with how we played in H1, very narrow, slow and risk averse in the build up…but on the flip side we rarely lost possession and turned the ball back over quickly or tracked back efficiently when we lost it………I wonder whether this will be the trademark way we play this season ??

What a brilliant start to the season….onwards blues !!
