Finally, after 135 years, a team has won the English top-flight title for four consecutive seasons. A brilliant achievement, especially considering the heights we reached last season.
City were brilliant today. Admittedly the early goal helped, but West Ham hardly laid a finger on us in the first 30 minutes. We were absolutely fantastic, and if it wasn’t for Areola (and a couple of glaring misses) the game would have been over well before half time.
Credit to the Hammers, they didn’t give up, even put a cat among the pigeons with a cracking goal of their own.
However, Rodri, superb finish took the wind out of their sails, and we saw the game out comfortably.
The fucking morons, who ran on to the pitch at the final whistle ruined what was otherwise a perfect day. I wish the club would install a retractable fence between the grass and the stands, and raise it just before the end of the game. Yes, I know there would be safety concerns over doing such a thing, and it will never happen, but it annoys the fuck out of me that this continues to happen every season, when everyone knows that the club could end up in trouble because of it.
The club always does a brilliant job with the presentation ceremony and today was no exception.
Well done, City! City! The best team in the land; in all the world!
Now, if you’ll excuse me, we’re going to have a celebratory drink or three.
