West Ham v City FA Cup post match

Maybe that is the position for him to end up his days at City in. Back to the start for him really. Wonder how effective he would be
against Everton or Spuds in that role though ?
I think he'd be fine against them . Both teams are physical in the middle and we've been lacking that side of the game.

Gabriel Jesus seems to be re-tweeting loads of his own tweets. Really odd. Almost as if he's being like..."hey, we've won 5-0 tonight but don't forget about me".
Gabriel Jesus doesn't have a twitter account. It's a bad imposter. His official instagram account states he's not on twitter.

Beautiful football, really easy on the eye. Almost everyone played really well but Silva ran the game before going off. Still a fabulous player, despite being written down by certain bigheads.

Special mentions to Yaya, Sagna and Sterling too.
I've never written Silva down!

Was a pleasure to watch. So many great performances but I would pick out Dave, Raheem, Yaya, Zaba, Sagna and Kun as really stand out. Shout out to the travelling support who were loud and proud all night. Liked the midfield diamond and can see that formation being really effective. Thought the BBC coverage was ok especially Frank. One point that concerned me in the first 30 minutes was John Stones either being too slow in closing down or backing off their offence to allow shots to go in. On the last one you could see Sagna remonstrating with him and he got called across to Pep straight after. A young man but these are pretty basic defensive weaknesses. Great to see him score and no doubt that will give him a great deal of pleasure and confidence. His distribution improved in speed, accuracy and ambition as the game went on. West Ham were poor and gave us more space than most but that doesn't take anything away from a great performance.

Biggest single takeaway from that, for me, as several others have said, is Zab in that position. He looked comfortable, sharp and fast. Sagna, meanwhile, was doing everything that could possibly be expected of him in the right back position (and then some). So I'd definitely stay with that while Ferny's out. Stones needs to wake up – it's one thing to be calm on the ball, it's another to be downright negligent. And it's not just his inexplicable stand-off from the Hammers player. His passing was poor in the first half. Raheem is absolutely coming into his own, and is a huge prospect for years to come. Finally, I found KDB pretty quiet, and I really wonder if he's most effective playing in that position.
What more can be said about Silva that hasn't already been said? I've noticed it before – when other players who've move on from City, or those who've just arrived, are asked to mention another player that they're in awe of, it's Merlin, almost every single time. Dzeko recently talked about him as being the best player he's ever played with, and Sané said much the same thing. I had hoped that Gundogan's arrival meant that he wouldn't be overplayed, as he certainly has been these last few seasons. Well, that's gone out the window. But I still think that Pep should find a way of playing him only once a week, if he possibly can.
Yaya – don't you just love seeing him smack those penalties into the corner of the net again?
Oh, one other thing: away support, take a bow. You were really, really noisy and it came over loud and clear on the telly.

I said it in the match thread and I'll say it again, Sagna was outstanding, proper defender, great distribution and got up and down all night. Some of his link up play was fantastic, he was injecting pace, helping us get forward in numbers icily, as opposed the side to side stuff which allows the opposition to get organized. MOM for me among some other really good performances.

The one obvious downside was stones who was playing sleeping lions instead of football at times. On current form I would have Kolarov in at CB until vinny is back or more likely we buy, or stones wakes up.

I was confused by west hams tactics. Seems the only point of Carroll was to mark yaya who then dragged him all over the place this seemed to just produce a chasm in the middle which made for buffet football for silva who certainly helped himself.

with you on zabba, played it like a veteran, could he do the same v everton or spurs not so sure certainly not spurs, but never the less he showed he has another string to his bow against that level of oppo

Watching the game back now & surprise surprise the BBC spent half time saying how it wasn't a penalty
The most "Bluemoon" comment in history. Confirmation bias at its most rabid.

3 of them said it was and one said it wasn't. Then they all concluded that, given that 3-1, it would have had to be given even by video technology.
