Do you think it’s going to be news to anyone that the young are more left wing and the old more right wing?

Many of those youngsters who are more left wing now, in the 18-24 year old bracket, will be conservatives in 20 years.

The majority of people I know my age are no longer the same revolutionary socialists they were when they were 18/19.

No, my hope is the conservatives start acting like conservatives and place more emphasis on the family unit, communities, policing and improving our wretched education system.

Why would they change their policies of the last 50 years? The other question you should ask yourself is who actually destroyed and damaged our communities / policing and education system.

Roy Jenkins destroyed policing as Labour Home Secretary in 1967, when he gave turned them from a proactive force, that went out trying to prevent crime, to desk jockeys that were reactive.

Belatedly, that's all nonsense. How does a 10,000 per cent increase in police radios (instead of using police boxes and whistles) make the police less pro-active?

How does cutting class sizes and setting up children's centres destroy education?

What "destroyed" communities? Mining villages? Fishing ports?

Some of us have lived through this, not just relied on selective reading.
