@Jamshopbridge i know exactly what you mean. I was always told it wasn’t ladylike and stopped from playing lots of times with my brothers back in the 40s and early 50s. At school we had a boys playground and a girls playground and the girls games lessons were netball and rounders!
If I answered back and said but I’m not a lady I’d either get a clip round my ear or sent to bed!
Things have taken time but it’s happening.

Good on you Ecclesblue. It must have been a rotten situation to be in back then. My cousin Barbara had to deal with prejudice, bigotry and similar small mindedness. I can only imagine what you had to deal with and wholly empathise with you. The Lionesses did it for you today!
