Little known City/England Women fact - their first home game in the WSL was on 20th April 2014 at the Regional Athletics Arena - I was one of the c.1500 there. Jill Scott was playing for us (as was Steph Houghton) and Mary Earps was playing for Bristol Academy that day.

Christ how old are you :)

When you talk about comebacks there’s no better player than Chloe Kelly to write the story Missed the Olympic Games and most of the 21/22 season after suffering an ACL injury But CK never gave up and brought home her nation’s first piece of silverware for 56 years.

Don't get all this nations first silverware for 56yrs stuff.....stand to be corrected, but didn't one or both of our u17/19s win their World Cup reasonably recently?

Think you need to Google what a forum is all about.
You telling everyone one to fuck off just because they disagree is guff or I prefer shite.
You seem to want to make it personal so drop the chat and go to PM.
To be fair, this place being a forum doesn't mean your posts are immune to criticism. If it stands to rule that this is a forum so you can post whatever you want, then it stands to rule that people can respond to your posts however they wish.

And you were talking shite.

Criticism fine but at least put an argument forward...

Absolutely superb tournament from England. I watched it in the pub and the place erupted when the second goal went in and we won. 87,000 there and millions watching on TV. I'm so pleased for all the young girls who love football that they can achieve their dream. Wonderful.

Well done England from a NI fan. We were buzzing just to qualify. Massive achievement with our squad.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned by scousers the only PL team to not congratulate England? Didn’t check them all but quick check Everton, arsenal, Brentford, spurs and Newcastle all did.

Brilliant mate.

Great to see this result today and a big fuck off to to all of those who have criticised Ian Wright and Alex Scott for saying it like it is.
My second cousin played for Manchester Corinthian Ladies in the 50s. For those that don't know they were a ladies football team from Manchester that toured internationally and were true pioneers of the women's game, in fact our very own Bert Trautmann chaperoned them on their tour of Germany in the late 50s. They were at one time the unofficial England ladies team and I'm proud to say our Barbara was a part of that team (and a blue!). The only reason they were unofficial was because the FA banned women from playing! Hard to believe but true.. My daughters have played at County and Elite Centre of Excellence level for various clubs throughout their teens and are now at Loughborough University doing sports (they've obviously inherited the football gene from Barbara, definitely not from me!). Over the years I have witnessed the prejudice and piss taking against the women's game first hand and It's no surprise to hear people airing their small-minded opinion on here that there's a time and a place for comments about women's standing in the game (probably the same people that moan about taking the knee and footballers having a social conscience etc). Alex and Ian's comments are fully justified. To hear people say there's a tine and place for this kind if thing can fuck right off..the women's game has limited exposure compared to the men's game so if there's an opportunity to tell people like it is to a big audience then fair enough.
WOW what a bloody coincidence that is ref the Corinthian Ladies team.
About three weeks ago I was in our local Asda when this old dear approached me and said that she liked my plastic bag,as it was a City one.
I told her that my first game was way back in 1964 and then she started to tell me that in the 1940/50`s she used to play for the Corinthian Ladies and her father used to take her in the car from Preston where she lived in those days to Manchester.
She then told me how her three sons all supported different teams and it transpired that I actually knew them all but two of them died within the last few years.
Her name is Sheila Wilson but I`ve no idea as to what her maiden name was, but would love to find out more about her/them.
Thanks for the post.
