Fair play. Second best for most of the game, a goal behind for a large part of it but found enough to get back into it then get themselves in the lead and finally dug in and held on. Great effort.

Greenwood, Russo and Toone have to start the next game, been miles better than Daly, White and Kirby every single time they've come on.

Kirby was quality against N Ireland and is one of England's most talented players IMO.
I 100% agree with Greenwood/Russo/Daly/White.

This is reminiscent of how convinced your were that our Women’s Team would’t qualify for the Champs League. You also felt we were dead and buried at half time tonight. You might want to leave off slating the pundits given your track record. Just a polite suggestion btw.

Our womens team qualified for the Champions League because the Ragettes had to play Chelsea in the final match of the season.
Spain outplayed England in that first half.
I was calling for Daly, Kirby and White to be hooked asap and replaced by Greenwood, Russo and Toone.
The pundits praised the England coach for making the changes I had asked for in the first half …….after 81 minutes. England went on to win the game.
What is my track record slating pundits? They are biased and have little of value to say…….

I think Sweden will beat Belgium, and although Sweden are a decent side I think they're eminently beatable for England. It's not a freebie but it'd feel like a real missed opportunity to lose to them.

If they reach the final they'll presumably face Germany or France, either of which would be a tough challenge but not insurmountable (if one of the other two teams on that side of the draw - Austria and the Netherlands - pulled off a shock and made it to the final, they're both teams England have beaten recently, so England should be confident and have nothing to fear).

Germany worry me more than France. France can be brilliant, but I feel like in a one-off match they could be got at or might succumb to a few errors. Germany are missing some big names (a shame not to see Marozsan there this time) but are a ruthless machine, not unbeatable but unlikely to do you a favour.

Pathetic post. Typical response of a numpty. I congratulated England for winning that quarter final.
They need a proper team selection to achieve their ultimate goal.

I’m glad Hemp got past her poor first half display and worked her socks off for the rest of the game. It wasn’t really Lauren’s night but she gave her all.

Millie Bright is consistently our best player.

Bright has been strong and reliable throughout. I do wonder with Lauren If she has been a little affected by the weight of expectation. She had a fair bit of press about how she will shine at these championships.

No doubt England got lucky today. Selection & tactics have been the same for every game and it was obvious that if Spain were on it then they would cause us problems. Using Kirby against a possession based team was a bad move imho. When England play n the front foot then she's great but that wasn't going to be the case today so she was a non-entity.. White was left to press the Spanish defenders on her own and Kirby just left her to it. She also doesn't close passing lanes down very well either so that's another negative. It also left Walsh and Stanway outnumbered with 3 vs 2 in midfield on numerous occasions.

Thankfully the subs made a difference. Was a little surprised on seeing the replay of England's first goal that Russo wasn't penalised for a foul with her arm going over the shoulder of the defender preventing the Spanish player from jumping. Hope that Keira is okay for the semi as it's probably the one player England have the least cover for. At least they'll get a couple of extra days to recover than their opponent whoever wins on Friday (probably Sweden).

Anybody would be quality against Northern Ireland. Ultimate awful side that only defend.
The consistent selection of Daly and White beggars belief.

England were unlucky not to win the game in normal time. Yes, Spain are brilliant at keeping the ball but as Georgia said, we were breaking them down before the equaliser.

If the ref can’t give our stonewall pen then was the VAR fast asleep. Maybe they’ve been affected by the heatwave.

Since when was football officiated according to netball rules. That’s what it’s like moaning that Toone’s goal wasn’t ruled out for Russo having her arm over tue Spanish defender’s shoulder.
