Some great 80s extended/remix versions around and this one is right up there

Yep.the US remix was legendary.
Alison Moyets 'technical' laugh was copied /stolen by many producers for years after ,mainly USA dance tracks.

Situation was originally the b side of Only you which reached top 3 but in usa they flipped the disc with it becoming the a side and it made No1 n us dance charts.
Quite an achievement for a band on an indie label in uk with no previous releases...at all.

Didn't know about flipping it for the US market, interesting. I have the 12" vinyl of Nobody's Diary, which has the original 7" inch mix of ND on the A side with a "re-recorded" version of Situation on the B side produced by Yazoo and Eric Radcliffe who went on to form The Assembly with Vince Clarke with Feargal as singer but a short lived project that one!
