Was just remembering the first time I saw The Verve, who were supporting Smashing Pumpkins in 1993. A fucking incredible 45min set, it's an understatement to say they blew the main band off stage. Was a privilege to be there. Amazing

Saw them down Oxford Road in Verve days in front of a couple of hundred but played as though there was a couple of thousand there. Ashcroft let his ego and acoustic guitar take over cos he knew McCabe was the star. Fantastic band though
