Hmm. Very interesting. When I was a nipper, (late 60's) I lived in Hollinwood and we would cut under the rd, (possibly Hollins rd. Not sure. It's so different now) through a tunnel to get over to the Roxy for the sat. matinee.

The daft thing is the government are actually in the process of being sued for seizing mobile phones from asylum seekers (as in their own devices) because it left them with no way to contact family or legal representatives.

Also a brief google search will bring up a load of charities whose whole purpose for existing is to provide refugees with donated mobile phones. Weird how that’s necessary given they get a choice between Samsung and iPhones fresh off the boat.

This whole rumour about phones started because during COVID face-to-face meetings with immigration officials weren’t possible so they temporarily gave people phones to conduct those meetings and then reclaimed them when the process was over. This is no longer the case.

The govt have admitted that they have spent £4 million on mobile phones for these illegals, the evidence you supplied means nothing.

I'm not going to derail this thread arguing the toss with someone who can't make head nor tails of the truth.

I appreciate you trying to wrap the debate up, but can you point to where the government has said they spent £4m on just mobile phones please?

I can see they did over 3 years on phones, amongst other things during Lockdowns etc.

But going back to this bloke on the video, in 2025 talking about it, and claiming it as fact as of today? Seems a little disingenuous?

The information is online, just google it. The government even give reasons for it. I wouldn't trust governments with any truth after Hillsborough, grenfel and the rape gangs both religious and establishment.
