What are your earliest memories of football?

Random matches shown on the flickering black and white screen.
Munich - if you were alive in Manchester at that time, you have to have some sort of memory of it. Everyone talked about it for weeks.
A cup final, 1957, or 58, when a goalkeeper got bundled into the net.

I didn't start going to City until my Dad took me during the glorious season before Joe Mercer arrived. We used to stand in an almost deserted Kippax, but the annoying thing is I can't remember who we played against. Just remember some of the players - Sear, Bacuzzi, Gomersall, Gratrix, Gray, etc.

First match I really remember well was a 2-2 cup draw against Leicester. Leicester were a first division team then, and Neil Young was outstanding. He also scored the winner in the replay.

Mine was sat in the middle of re developing the Kippax stand at Maine Rd. It was hammering down and the stewards were dishing out those plastic Macs. We beat Spurs 5.2 (i think). My stepdad asked me if I wanted to leave with 20 minutes to go as we were soaked. I said no thanks I want to stay till the end. Also peeing up against the wall behind the stands was the official toilets. How times have changed.

Born in 69, first vague memory is creeping downstairs asking to watch Sportsnight & the 1975 League Cup vrs Rags, definite memory of 76 FA Cup final & Dad not happy (he supported THEM!)

Around the same time, watching City play some team in black and white stripes - with my Dad and Grandad surrounded by the smell of pies, bovril and Hamlets. Happy days. Obviously wasn'the my first match as recently found a program v Birmingham City some time in '77 with the words 'Steven's first match 2-2' written on the front in my Grandad's handwriting.

Also the excitingly fuzzy commentary of the '78 world cup games, and watching the last minute Liam Brady/Alan Sunderland (I think) winner against the rags in the '79 FA Cup Final on the telly. I can still see my Dad racing out of his armchair and virtually knee-sliding to the TV when that went in

My earliest football memory was being a kid going to Birmingham away, the coach getting bricked and us winning one nil to go top of the league, may dad singing "we are top of the league" as we walked up some ramp thing to get back to the coaches. I think we were on Div 2 at the time though I'm not too sure on that. I think we set off from the railway pub in between Hollinwood and failsworth.

Night match ?

Robinho's debut. No football before that.
