The big myth at the heart of this is the idea that the 2012 team was as good as this side.

The reality is that they'd get absolutely smashed by this side or any Pep side since 2017.

Fair comment. Of the 2012 squad, only Yaya, Sergio, Edin Dzeko and Spanish Dave would improve the current squad imo.

However, I do wonder if our current side would have overcome the physical / psychological barrier that City faced around 2012. Players and coaches... We had the right people in place at the right time.
