What book are you reading now / or recommend?

I'm getting to that point, am waiting pretty much a decade for books by J.V. Jones, George RR Martin and Patrick Rothfuss as well as a shorter period for Brandon Sanderson to finish two trilogies and Peter Brett to finish the 4th book of a four book series. Robin Hobb has also now delayed the third book of the Fitz and the Fool trilogy. It's not just the waiting around that's terrible, but I'm going to have to reread all those series as the next books come out to refresh my memory (with the exception of Hobb) as it's too much information to retain so I am starting to think it might be better to wait for the series to be completed and then binge read the lot in future.
At least Sanderson finished the mistborn series. Rothfuss is my hate figure right now, but that's good in a way for writing such an amazing 2 books in the kingkiller books. 2 of the best books I've ever read, but without the third he's a c**t. Gave up on Martin years ago.

I've no problem with Sanderson, he's a quick writer and has kept the Mistborn and Way of Kings books going at a good rate while cleaning up Robert Jordan's unfinished work (something I'm extremely grateful for). Sometimes he seems to be doing too much though, he always seems to have 6 or 7 projects on the go. It's more a case of it being him + several others and everything is being delayed. As someone who read the wheel of time books over 19 years I have patience but I've too many series on the go now myself.

Yeah I know what you mean, I feel at the moment I never finish a series and before I know it I'm engrossed in a new series. I darent even try and start the WOT series, life over I imagine.

It's a good way to spend a bit of time :) I read insanely quickly so re-read the prequel and 1-13 in about a month before a memory of light was released but I reckon 2-3 years for most.

Nest

Kate Bishop is in a world of trouble. In the wake of several inexplicable and brutal murders, Kate is thrust into a police inquiry that reveals shocking family secrets. Suddenly exposed to a shadowy network of global evil, her life takes a dramatic turn with the arrival of Jack Raines, an author with a mysterious past who says he has the answers to her questions. What's more, he suggests that Kate herself might be the solution.

But hot on their heels are a force of superpredators, vicious and bloodthirsty killers who will stop at nothing until Kate and Jack are eliminated. Like Jack, they've realized just how special Kate is, and now she's marked for death.

An explosive mix of action and suspense, Nest is a landmark new novel from worldwide best-selling author Terry Goodkind and a complete reinvention of the paranormal thriller. Travel with Goodkind on a dangerous journey to the back alleys of the darknet, to the darkest corners of our minds, and to the very origins of what it is to be human, a place few have ventured to and fewer still have survived.

Genre: Horror
