Two of my favourite writers, McKinty in particular is vastly underrated. His Sean Duffy novels (all named after Tom Waits songs) are superbJust finished The Border, the final part in Don Winslow’s brilliant Cartel trilogy. Now reading The Chain by Adrian McKinty, which is also very good.

Not read the Sean Duffy novels, but have read Dead I May Well Be (his first novel, I think) which I enjoyed. Can recommend all of them Ric, and also Don Winslow’s earlier stuff as well, particularly The Winter of Frankie MachineNot read the Sean Duffy novels, but have read Dead I May Well Be (his first novel, I think) which I enjoyed. Might try some of his other earlier stuff when I get chance.

Nice one, will check them out. Have read most of Winslow’s back catalogue now, but not The Winter of Frankie Machine. He made a cameo appearance in Kings of Cool though, as I recall?Can recommend all of them Ric, and also Don Winslow’s earlier stuff as well, particularly The Winter of Frankie Machine

Currently reading ‘War Doctor’ about a doctor who has travelled the world undertaking surgery on the front line, so far so good.
Prior to that ‘Ultras’ by Tobias Jones and my next book will be Fear and Loathing in La Liga by Sid Lowe. I do like a football book which not only gives an insight to football, but also the history of the country itself. Both Ultras and the one on La Liga manage this.
