What book are you reading now / or recommend?

The 43 Group, by Morris Beckman. Tells the story of the fight against facism ,in this country after the 2nd world war, targeting Mosleys blackshirts. The group was mainly Jewish men and women, who put their bodies on the line, to disrupt the large rallies that were taking place by fascists at the time. True heroes.

A Fine Day for a Hanging; the real Ruth Ellis Story.

Read books before on this subject but this is the best by far.

It is good but I found it hard to have sympathy with her. Would love to know what you reckon to it.

The Secret History by Donna Tartt. Complete rubbish. Now on the latest Rebus.

That's why I liked it. I didn't want to have sympathy as such, I just wanted a 'real' up to date account. And I thought it delivered that, all told. She and the victim sound like a nightmare couple but she was incredibly brave at the end and welcomed the noose.

The Jungle - Clive Cussler.

Started reading it about 15 months ago. About half way through. Might sack it as I got Lake's book last month.

Lake's book is a really great read

Laid up recovering from a total hip replacement surgery, so I've read two Jeffrey Deaver novels featuring "Lincoln Rhyme" in quick succession, "The Bone Collector" and "The 12th Card".

Both are awesome, next up Jeffrey Deavers James Bond novel "Carte Blanche" and it's sequel by William Boyd "Solo".

Today I've also watched two films, "Welcome To The Punch" and "Kill the Irishman"

As you can tell I have a lot of time on my hands at the moment!!
