Hard way by Lee childs
(Thriller)

An exceptional read. Cannot recommend it highly.

.... the suspense is just unreal.

Love the Jack Reacher series, mans man, doesnt take any shit - the way Child describes the fights he's always in, its like its happening right in front of you - mint!
If you like these try the Elvis Cole books by Robert Crais

The Cut-George Pelecanos
Not a patch on some of his earlier stuff, but still a good read.
Loved Pelecanos earlier stuff (for this who don't know him, its gritty crime fiction set largely in Washington DC's black/Greek communities, from one of the writers on The Wire) but I think he is actually getting worse with each book.
The Cut, The Turn-off and The Way Home are pretty pedestrian compared to his Karras and Clay books or the Nick Stefanos stuff.
That said, What It Was is a short-ish novel he released at the same time as The Cut and is miles better, more reminiscent of King Suckerman and his earlier 70s soul-influenced crime fiction

Anyone know any good true crime books ? I liked The Ice Man about the mafia killer.

I read loads of true crime books. Currently reading one about that crossbow killer, Stephen Griffiths? A bit of an oddball who liked to kill women with his crossbow.

Certainly some sickos in this world.

If you can get The Lost Boy it's about Myra Hindley and it's a good read. Also Beyond Belief is about the Moors Murders too though it was written when they were caught so it may be out of print. Ann Rule writes some good ones about American Serial Killers too.
