What do we need?

I want to remind people that we are champions because it seems people forget that seeing they want 5-10 new players... Me personally I feel we need a new CB seeing Kolo & Savic are not good enough to be 3choice. We lost a few games when Vincent & Joleon where missing and we looked vulnerable, same with Yaya. If De Jong leaves which I hope, not because he´s a bad player but because he´s to one dimensional. I would like to see someone replace him. A winger or two would be great seeing it seems we run out of ideas during games when people park the bus, in Qpr case the titanic. In this case Bale would be a great option. It´s important to have players who can offer you another system. And would maybe help Dzeko as well?
Bottom line we need to strenghten a few areas, nothing more imo.
What do you reckon we need?

I don't want a whole boatload of new players, just players who will fix our inadequacies.

We won the league sure, but Bayern flattened us at their place and we struggled in Naples too.

1. A deep lying playmaker. Most of the European powers have one. Other teams can overrun us with no fear of a clever deep pass.
2. Winger. Same reason as above. Teams pack it in or don't respect us when pressing high, and we can't punish either.
3. Backup CB to replace Savic.

The first two are absolutely essential or we will continue to struggle in Europe. The third will just cause us to crash out of more cups and drop more points.

3. Backup CB to replace Savic. Sakho? Or the young greek lad at Schalke

What a team that would be.

Im waiting to be made head scout atm

It's definitely an off-season of incredibly ambitious wish lists, especially given our recent success.

To answer your question, I'd like to sign Javi Martinez and close up shop. Cover at CB done, cover for Yaya done, happy with everywhere else.

In my opinion Kolo is adequate CB cover. Savic is not.

Other than a dream signing like Lucas Moura first or Bale second, I'd go for a young winger, maybe Junior Hoilet and a young attacking midfielder in the Gaston Ramirez mould. We will need cover for Barry as he gets older and more injury prone and Yaya as he may have only one or two more years with us.
That's it for me.

Recall Guidetti if we lose one striker.

What do we need? (phase1) to have a clear out the deadwood & underperforming players - the unhappy miserable twats - Sparky's left over knobs...... Get it sorted - City

Kolo is still good cover at CB, but we should bring back Boyata as additional cover. Better than Savic, and Micah can help out as needed. Let Savic go, make room for the kids coming through.

Need speedy winger (I'd even take two and move johnson on) and another central midfielder in the mould of Pizarro who is always looking for a pass.

Savic is 21......

The lad needs a break,he's a very good prospect, letting him go now makes no sense.Boyata certainly isn't any better.

Remember Lescotts first year compared to now. I dont think we should get rid of Savid but get another CB for depth we had a stretch with both Kompany and Lescott were injured , and kolo was at ACN.

I think this would be my dream summer. But doubt we will spend that much as its not as easy as said when involving players in swap deals

I like the idea of J. Martinez.

Can play lot of positions. Barry is 32 years old. He has not that much in him. Maybe one more full season. De Jong needs a new contract or to leave this summer. (Or third option he will leave free next summer, stupid thing as we could ask 10m for him now at least.)

So Martinez could be useful in the future. Also covers the centre back position. See the same ability in him, as Kompany was also a midfielder, def midfielder and maybe defender. See what a denfender he is now.

Martinez big, strong , good technique, but he can (and has to) improve a lot. He is young.

Maybe would not be be starter next season but would cover 2-3 position in them team. After that if he is good enough he would be fix starter. Slowly could replace Barry in the team.
Barry's contract runs out in 2014 summer, he is turning 32, there wont be a new contract for him. Next summer we could get maybe 4-5 m pounds for him from. Of course he wouldnt be bad to be around on the bench, still could the the job, but I think he will be sold more likely than leaving on free.

Big YES to Martinez from me.
