I've recently had comments removed from Facebook Nostalgia sites for referring to them as "Rags" and received explanations that the site has received complaints about the term being offensive.
You couldn't make it up.
 
Rags when talking to blues, if a Rag is in the conversation, it's ManU, trust me the hate it.
 
Rags, but normally only on here.

Never heard that term used outside Bluemoon, although I’ve lived away from Mcr for nearly 40 years now.

Is it widely used off the forum?
 
Depends on who I'm talking too really. My dad's side came from Newton Heath and he was the only blue in the family. I had 2 uncles who were reds and cousins who are. Can't really go calling them rags or scum but friendly banter has always been fine. Same goes for several friends who are reds.

However, if I'm taking to out of town TV rags trying to belittle me and my club i don't hold back. I've managed to put most in their place in pubs up and down the country. The ones who go to OT and know their stuff I can talk to, other's soon get told to do one if they are being disrespectful.
 
Speaking to an old blue at work a few years ago, Golfing Neil, we talked about the origins of the name rags.

I thought it was something to do with the fact that we've bailed them out many times in their history so they were beggars in rags.

Neil smiled and said no it was a reference to women using scraps of cloth before the advent of tampons etc. He said either way they were cunts!
 
Hi all. First time poster, long time reader. Normally I like to just read on the forum, I enjoy hearing the opinions of all even if I might not necessarily agree with some, but I think that helps give you a good grounding, a centre point or fulcrum if you like and opens your mind up to different ways of thinking.
However something just spurred me into action yesterday-probably how piss poor ‘they’ really are and the fact it’s being swept under the carpet, surprise surprise eh?
Anyway I came up with a little poem. What do I call them? Well here’s something I wrote yesterday hope you enjoy

THEM CUNTS

I will never tire of putting them cunts back in their box
Not with arrogance or snide, but with wit calm and pride

Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat
Sadly something them cunts couldn’t ever complete

We may in future become fuckin shite again
Like we once were back when I was ten

For years we had to endure, all them cunts bile and abhor
However times have changed and that’s no longer and no more

Times our hard for them cunts now
But they’ll pull through cos it’s what them cunts do

They’re the biggest and best in all the world
Funny that cos I’ve not heard a word

But them cunts will never know, what it’s like to be true
Cos I may be a ****, but at least I’m blue
 
One name Rags, hate them with a passion. My best friends are all Blues, any Rag associates or even family members, I keep at arms length, sorry that's me, I don't forget things what have happened in the past, bunch of twats.
