what do you think about Kidd as assistant manager

My old fella knew him as a young'un. Said he was a snidey git then and still is now.

Don't know him myself but my old fella is generally right when he says someone's a cock.

May I suggest that Kiddo was found a role at City with these very changes in mind?

He has had access to all parts of the playing side of the club with eyes on the development, training and morale.

As much as MH doesnt like it he has been found wanting in some areas that are key.

That is why the Khaldoon statement makes it clear - will not fundamentally change - that if there was any hope of improvement MH would have stayed.

Marwood and Kidd said MH was talk and no action.

Something I tend to agree with.

Kiddo was a fantastic finisher in his 2 1/2 years at Maine Road, was gotten rid of in the Allison purge in '79.
Spent several years as assistant to Fergie so is no stranger to success and knows loads about the game, he's a proper Mancunian so this tallies with the desire of the owners to maintain local roots, I think it's a great move on every level
I might be wrong, but I think he left just before Allison came back(same year but before his return, towards the end of the transfer window when it was March).

so who was sven's defence coach was it that hans becke who has just been sacked at notts county?

I think you may have a point. Kidd is highly regarded within the game and it did seem strange that he was given such a lowly role.

I like the bloke but I am slightly biased due to him being one of my first childhood heroes when he was playing for us. But he has a great track record as an assistant and I am more than happy to have him in that position.

a good appointment and a critical one..............

he will be key to success.......

DontLookBackinAnger thanks for your reply, Allison came back on 5th Jan 1979 so everything that happened in 1979 was done by him because he took over completely and went through the club like a dose of salts getting rid of everyone who stood up to him, didn't agree with him and replaced them with lesser players spending a fortune and we never fully recovered from it to this day, Swales would go on to say that was the worst decision of all and the killer!
