Johnny Mathis when appearing at the Apollo he loved the blue white and maroon being worn byJimmy Glennie (James bass player)
Mark Day (Happy Mondays guitarist)
Reni (Roses drummer)
Mark Burgess (Chameleons singer)
Rick Wakeman (Keyboards YES...he is!)
That's a full band. And what a band!
A bit tenuous this but my great uncle was Amin's CO in The Kings African Rifles Regiment.President Idi Amin was a season ticket holder in the North Stand and was a regular visitor to Maine Road throughout the 1970s
The Blossoms lads have just been on MOTD Extra talking about City. Weirdly the show is being broadcast from the main pool Victoria Baths where I learned to swimJoe Donovan the drummer from Blossoms as someone already posted Tom Ogden.

I loved that place. Like an Aladdin's cave chock full of City stuff in every inch of available space.accidentally knocked rick wakemans kids on their arses with the door of the old souvenier shop at Maine Road.
The crap one before it moved to the social club
Good ol’ Janice on the till. Memories.I loved that place. Like an Aladdin's cave chock full of City stuff in every inch of available space.
You'll have Blossoms fans all over you there LS, they just don't like the prefix "The", it's just "Blossoms". Pedantic in the extreme. The Blossoms lads have just been on MOTD Extra talking about City. Weirdly the show is being broadcast from the main pool Victoria Baths where I learned to swim
Great little place as others have said , jam packed full of character, you'd probably fit about 50 of it into the current club shop,(it got crowded with about half a dozen people in there from memory).Good ol’ Janice on the till. Memories.
