Apologies if mentioned already (not ploughing through 64 pages), but a very famous lifelong City supporter was the painter L S Lowry.

His most well-known football painting, though, is "Going to the Match", which actually depicts Burnden Park. He live in Pendlebury and allegedly had a soft spot for Bolton Wanderers. (Can't post pictures, sorry)

Failsworth band Puressence were all blue except one anomaly. The lead singer James has an amazing voice and although didn’t make it big in the UK were massive in Greece….
