"United were in control for the first 20/30 mins, then Balotelli scored a sweet goal against the run of play and it gradually imploded from there. After Evans was sent off after half time, most teams would've shut the shop and defended in the hope that they could nick a goal back from a set piece, but United just kept on marauding forward and City just picked us off on the counter attack with clinical accuracy. Evra and Ferdinand gave up trying after the 3rd goal. The last 3 City goals were embarrassing 3 against 2 situations, like you'd see in an under 10's game. This has been coming for at least a month. Part of me is glad it happened, because they needed the wake up call, but would rather it came from someone else!! Also, this really highlighted that a few players are living on borrowed time and need to be shipped out, once again we were overun in midfield and why nobody marked Silva is astounding. Even if Vidic was 80% fit he would've started for me. There's been 186 shots on United's goal in 9 games. That stat says it all, it's now time to close ranks and start learning how to defend again. On the upside, we now have a run of about 16 games against opposition who are out of the top 5. City still need to play Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. As well as crunch matches against Napoli and Bayern, coupled with a long hard winter. They will really need to use the full squad and look after their star players.
City fans will deffo live off this game for a while and make t-shirts and DVD's to mark the occasion, but I think that the only thing worth celebrating is the lifting of the title itself. It's only October. Chelsea were 10 points clear this time last season. We will see, it's going to be emotional!"
