Again I agree with your economics point of view. I have been saying for a long time that the world, yes the whole world needs to reset its proirities.

For as long as the ultrawealthy fat cats continue to make huge profits by deploying the latest labour saving strategies and AI and everything else in between they will eventually end up consuming themselves as there will be very few people left in the world with work and/or money to buy their prodcuts, be they cheap as chips or mega expensive.

No one or very few will be working and consequently we will all be very broke.... penniless.

You can see it coming... but how can you stop it?

I wish I had an easy answer mate. We can't rely on the vast majority of our current politicians. The only politicians worth bothering with are those that explicitly acknowledge the real problem is the ultra rich and rampant inequality and they're few and far between. With the rest you are pissing your vote down the drain imo. No one's going to win any arguments via media platforms owned by the fatcats. Voting with our feet as consumers isn't going to make any difference, I've stopped using the likes of Amazon but that's more personal conscience as a small business person myself, I hate the way they treat small retailers but I'm not kidding myself that I'm making any difference in the bigger scheme of things.

But I don't think all is lost because there's a historical precedent for beating the odds. I think if anything is going to work it'll need to be a completely new style of mass movement in the same way that the unions were formed as a completely new workers response to the industrial revolution. There's stuff we can learn from them e.g. there's no point trying to use existing media you have to create your own; you can subvert the technology of the powerfil and use it against them: in fact you have to create your own culture/counterculture probably in our case rejecting some unsustainable aspects of consumerism; it'll be pretty ugly and people will have to go to prison and worse; but most importantly of all, history tells us we need to put aside our differences in the interest of creating a big enough movement that we count. There were some very rum bedfellows in the early labour movement but they understood that the only way they could make a difference was to stick together. Ordinary people have one thing and one thing only in our favour and that's that there's lots of us and if enough of us cooperate then we have the power to force politicians to exercise control over the ultra rich or to achieve that ourselves.

If you look at the early stages of the union and labour movement you'd not have put a penny on them succeeding in achieving change but they did. Ordinary people organised themselves before to save themselves from catastrophe, the world is more complicated now but that doesn't mean we can't do it again.
