I've not read all 45 pages (sorry) so not sure if this been asked. Did anyone watch Dr Who on Saturday? The first part of that was so, so near the bone.
Complete anarchy in the streets and everyone insisting that they were right, there was no other point of view but there's and if you disagreed it got violent. It was scarily accurate.

That opening, considering it was written 2 years ago was so prescient.

The Doctors Speech about the human race hating each other later in the episode was bang on as well.

I don't know if the details have been changed in the new treaty, but the last one was for 1,000 asylum seekers to be sent over there over a five year period, with an unspecified number or asylum seekers coming the other way from Rwanda.

The camp they are to be housed in has a capacity of 100 people, so I'm assuming half of them will have the determination and resolve to make their way back to Europe, which makes vacancies for the other 100 souls.

I can't remember which country it was, I think it was the Netherlands, but it had a similar policy with Rwanda a few years ago, and every single person they sent there eventually made their way back to Europe.

Is he? He’s certainly anti-discrimination. He gets lumped in with “the loony left” as he speaks out against the current government.

They don’t seem to have much of a wing, merely jumping from one populist policy to the next, to try and appease the vocal noise on social media wanting migrants to drown in the Channel and defunding the RNLI.

I notice that the term 'patriot' is coming to the fore. The people who use it seem to think it is a synonym for 'fascist'.

There are many ways of loving your country, and they do not all involve hating foreigners as a first principle. Indeed, I would argue that the best way to advance this country and its people is by international cooperation and trade. Not by narrow nationalism and xenophobia.

The reptilian part of the brain is strong in these people. We all have it, but most of us still have enough of the Enlightenment within us to keep it under control.
