What if we just went with Delap, Jesus, and Torres?

Not sure Pep has to prove himself as a coach either at this stage so being hamstrung with a lack of signings in positions that need filling whilst our main rivals strive to improve seems like an unnecessary course of action..
Pep does not have to prove he is the best, but we finished 5 points ahead of our second place the year before, and that followed up a brain fart in the CL final, our rivals are not that far behind us.

Yeah I would not want to waste Pep's time here without backing him in one of the important positions...We will still compete for all the trophies, but the risk is too much. Even with a top class striker the kids will get enough time for sure so their development is not an issue.

We may need a striker for sure this season because liverpool will be back, chelsea are there and also united are strengthening a lot (they will end up getting varane it seems)..

Torres looked great for Spain, and could be the real deal in 2 or 3 years. I've no doubt Pep could challenge and win the league with a front three of Foden, Torres and Sterling, especially if we add, say, Grealish. Whether that front three can win the CL is a different question, however!

Jesus has had 4 and a half years. Hopefully we shift him this summer .Torres is promising but has a habit of disappearing for long periods . Delap should be given a chance to see what he can do for sure. We need to buy a striker and a left back. That's been the case for years. Dereliction of duty at this stage
I can smell match day thread negativity.

I heard on the radio yesterday that Aston Villa's new football kit has been released and the publicity pictures featured Jack Grealish. I know this might not mean much - remember the hoo-ha with Fabian Delph in 2015 - but I think Delph was a free agent player, is Grealish not still under contract?
delph wasnt a free agent , we paid 8 m, the photos are done months in advance , we have done plenty then sold them

I think that's the thinking at the club. 2 more years of what will be considered the best manager of all time, fell at the last hurdle not having a fully fit striker, it's now or never. No point having regrets.

Torres looked great on occasion,he also looked a bit lost and not quite up with play on several others. His biggest problem is exactly that.....consistency.....but at his age and level of experience that isn't a huge concern.
I agree with the two or three years.

We won the league and got to the final of the champions league with just them last year, so I can’t see it being a huge issue

Aguero hasn’t been fit at least for the past year, so him going doesn’t really make much difference

I can see Torres being our real stand out player this season

I’m not convinced on all the hype with Delap. Some on here talk about him like he’s the second coming of christ. I don’t see it sadly.
