What is a Clarkie

A 'Clarkie' thread started when someone, a complete twunt reversed his car out of a space without seeing this huge HGV that had been parked there for 20 minutes. He reversed into it and then came on the forum moaning and asking whose fault was it.

Have I had one in starting this thread?

I've seen this a few times and it sounds like I've missed something.

Granted I've not been on BM for long but if someone could give me an idea of the story behind this, complete with any neccessary pics or gifs included then that would be great...
A "clarkie" is named after the legendary poster that is clarkie_ni.

I've tried to find the thread in Classics but it doesn't seem to be there. IIRC it started when Darren Fletcher was suspended for a Scotland game. Is that right?

Someone posted that there was going to be a minute's silence at Hampden Park because of it and clarkie completely missed the fact that it was clearly a wind-up and went on a memorable rant. He's never been allowed to live it down since and hence as "clarkie" describes anyone falling for a wind-up.
Check out this Clarkie. Hook, line and sinker chris85mcfc. Hats off.

A Clarkie is like a wilderbeest stopping off for a drop of water by the river on his long trek across the East African Plains...... will I , won't I ???

It was when he was suspended for the rags in the CL final, and the "story" was a mins silence before the Old Firm derby. I suddenly feel very pathetic for remembering that.

As you were..
