Theres no doubt we lost to an inferior team, but it's been coming in the league and I half expected it.
Whilst I am frequently exasperated by mancini's tactical errors, I actually thought the selection of mario and Sergio was a decent decision yesterday. I thought for the first 20 mins we were hitting their feet early and it looked like one of them could spin off the centre halves' shoulders at any time. I felt the way Tevez holds the ball up and runs at people could hamper our one touch attacking, and that's what's beaten man united these last few times. I'd even go as far as saying that I'd have left mario on and withdrawn nasri when Tevez came on. And there lies my only criticism of Mancini from this game, and it's one I've had for the majority of 18 months: when is he going to get wise to the waste of space that is samir nasri? He's the one of the incompleted one two, a poked pass down a blind alley, a prod and no return. He's the softest half of the 50-50, the good move halted through caution. He's the Emporer's new clothes at city, although I think he's been found out by most now.
Overall I'm not going to hammer Mancini for yesterday, but noone can doubt that he's under pressure now. A couple of bad results over Christmas and he's in big big trouble.
I still don't think we will sack him in the middle of this season, but I wouldn't rule it out.
