Looking at you guys from the outside:

Talking about knife crime isn't your Brit identity, is it? It may be what you see, but not defines you.
Thinking about it... Is what you see an underlying definition or a momentary feeling?
Whatever happened to the "bowler hat/ umbrella/ cup of tea" definition??!!

Of course Britishness still exists.
Perhaps not to our generation but certainly to many of the generation that preceded us.

It never actually existed as a true representation of British culture.
To answer your initial question: for me, being British [or actually English] is something i can't define. I'm just me and although a massive part of this is a result of where i've lived within England...it's just who i am and it can't be explained or defined by it.

A mixed culture!
Excellent point!

You're right, of course! Mixing my metaphors, so to speak, wasn't I?
A 'Britishness' is clearly different from an 'Englishness', so what makes us a "United Kingdom", if we're all seperated off?
And it IS interesting to read our foreign take on what defines us! Even if they may be ex-pats.

I thought it was a fair point. Young people never walked down the street grabbing their crotches and shouting hee hee but young lads today and back in the olden days like you walked around like they were some sort of urban gangster.Bigga said:Banned Tosspot said:Your hanky needs ironing woop woop!
You know the funny thing was, I wasn't even having a dig. Just noticing your point about MTV, whilst you post about Mr. Jackson.
You clearly took it as affront.
But, at least now it's clarified that you were the doppelganger on the other forum.
Bit sad, that you want to deflect away from the original thread line... and merely typical of your behaviour.
