What is everybody's best local day out from the area

I regularly visit the Woolly Sheep, it’s excellent.
I used to walk the Dales every week, but sadly I can’t do that any more. However, many a country bus runs by some excellent pubs. I recommend Craven Arms at Appletreewick, the Red Lion at Burnsall, the White Lion at Cray, the pub in Dent whose name I forget, the Buck inn at Buckden. Many others too. All set in beautiful countryside, good food and beer, sunshine 365 days a year!
Some great pubs you mentioned there, particularly the Craven Arms at App'trick. An absolute gem Not sure about the 365 days sunshine though!
Was it the Sun in Dent, or the George & Dragon ? Both decent pubs last time I visited.

The one nearest the top of the village with a big beer garden. FOC memory!

Worded that way because most here are not living in Manchester but what local getaway from your metropilitan area (greater manchester etc) about a n hr away is your favourite?

Personally Hebden Bridge or Buxton
Have you ever walked up to Hepptonstall from Heiden Bridge?
