There are plenty of reasons why fans of most clubs don't like them, but I'm surprised everyone on this thread so far has missed the main point for us blues - local rivalry. It's built into the DNA of almost every football fan on the planet to hate their local rivals and we're no different. The fact that in the past 20 years or so they've become hugely successful, have a manager that lacks class, have spawned millions of arrogant fans, and have some players that would make your stomach churn adds to the hate but in all honesty they're all side issues for me. Some of my best mates support them but regardless of that and regardles of what they've grown into over the past 20 years I still wouldn't ever want them to win a corner, let alone a match, unless the result benefitted City.

For me its the fans, and fergiescum. dont get me wrong its not all the fans, i dont mind the older generation of fans who have seen more to united than just success, its the newcomers that dont even care about united, cant name the team, no nothing about the history than the obvious and have no passion for their team, just love the fact that they support a club thats successful. they will never know what its like to watch ur team struggle and still love them, because once united start to really struggle they will be off to support someone else.
Its the gobbing off fans that say things like "shitty city" and "34 years" usually they will be kids or scruffy girls that havent got a clue about football and when u start a debate just trail off with...i dont like football anyway.

Just been talking to a bloke at work who is a Blackpool supporter and he was going on about how much he hates Preston and everything about em and it got me too thinking about us and them lot over at the swamp, what exactly is it that i or indeed we as city fans hate about them, is it the fans, the club, the players ? I mean i have a cpl of rag mates but at the same time if i meet someone first time and find out they are a rag im immediatly put off them .. so yeah was just wondering what is it exactly .. other than of course the fact they are all huge twunts ??

What we hate about them? The fact that they breathe the same oxygen as my three grandsons and then, the chance that my grandsons (god bless them 1, 2 and 10 years old) may, just may, breathe in the air (if it's still called that after breathing it out) might breathe that in and infect them.

Other than that I don't have a problem with the scum, glory hunting, bandwagon jumping piss flaps.
