The original 39 Steps is probably the first film that comes to mind. The Good The Bad and The Ugly is another. I can’t really think of a modern film.
Eli Wallach as Tuco is my favo(u)rite film performance by an actor of all time. Even without the scene at his brother's church/monastery, which humaniz(s)es a character who is in many ways a mere animal, it is an absolutely brilliant, funny, intense, wonderful portrayal. And Tuco brings us an immortal bit of wisdom (that could apply to many a footballer): "If you have to shoot, shoot. Don't talk."The original 39 Steps is probably the first film that comes to mind. One of the finest, if not the finest film ever made.Just seen Zulu again. Sixty-four years ago it was made. Still looks like it just came out last year. My ERO asked whilst I was viewing "How many times have yer seen it?" Not enough, I said.
That's a shout. A real coming of age film. I get goosebumps when they find the lad at the end of the tracks, every time.Stand by me. Still takes me through every emotion each time I watch it even though I’ve seen it over 100 times. True great of a movie.
i'll watch muffs and tiddies in art-house cinema all day long.Laugh a minute stuff there. I’m not criticising either film by the way; have watched both in the past and can appreciate them. But I 100% wouldn’t have either down for frequent repeated viewings.
