What kind of reception will Carlos get next Monday night?

Personally, I hope he will not get any stick from the fans. As long as he continues to treat the paying fans with a degree of respect and keeps up his level of effort on the pitch then we should try to persuade him as vocally as possible that City is the right place for him.

This is altogether different from the stick Barton got against Newcastle when he turned down his contract offer. As we all know City stood by Barton time and time again and it was thrown back in our faces when he dug his heals in for more money.

Carlos has led by example and has given 100% every time he steps out for us, he is still the talisman for the team and hopefully he will see that he has been given bad advice by the rodent who represents him. That will be easier for him to do if we do not become his enemy. I do not believe his real issue is with the club or the supporters. Even if it is about more money he has earned that right to ask for more, even if he is going about it in completely the wrong way.

I hope he gets the same reception he always gets. To steal a Mancini cliche "this is football". Whether he genuinely wants to leave, or just wants or money, or whatever - he's the kind of player who has always given 100% on the field. We should support him as such IMO...

If he plays

I hope to god he doesn't act like other unhappy South Amercians down the years by going AWOL. If that was to happen my view would change completely.

Otherwise, he should continue to play. Can anyone afford to even buy him? Even in a worse case scenario he won't be going anywhere until the summer.

If he plays, and plays like the Tevez we know then I am sure he will get a good reception. Contact dispute if that's what it is, is nowt to do with us as long as he realises he's the Captain (and plays like it), and Mancini is the manager.

If he plays I hope we give him big cheers to show that we want him to stay and also that we are supporting him.

Thankfully, he doesn't know how to play in any other way...

Regarding the captaincy - I'll be shocked if he keeps it. For me it must go to VK...
