Paul Cooper turned out to be a great signing. Experienced backup keeper (if a little small by todays standards) whp covered Dibble's injuriea in 88/9 promotiin run in and early in 89/90 including the 5-1. Had been part of Bobby Robson's great Ipswich team.
Not sure what other options we had in 88/9, a young Margetson maybe? Probably would have been better playing Gleghorn in net than him.

We have had worse keepers than Nigel Gleghorn.

We had a reasonably good side in them days to be fair, though we were definitely on the downgrade.
