What players do you remember and what players do you forget that you remember?

Clive Wilson. Silky left back from the mid eighties. Had a great career for mostly London clubs.
I’ll never forget him scoring the winner v Liverpool on boxing day 85 in a rare win. They used to turn up to main rd, the biggest pitch in the league and destroy us year after year. His brother Gus was also on City’s books, but never made the level his brother did. Both were local Moss side lads.

Tony Scully and Barry Conlon, Paul Beesley, part of Frank Clark's galacticos era.
Put Darren Wassall on that list. And Ged Brannan. Think they were Clark Galacticos too.

It was during that period that I genuinely (with reason, but still deludedly!) thought I could do a better job than many of that team. From Curle, Phelan, Filtcroft, Beagrie and Quinn to Scully, Van Blerk, Healey, Beesley and Wassall in less than a year...

Looks like Wassall had a good post playing career tbf.

The Royle and Keegan years are absolutely chock full of these players. The era of bloated squads that often got so big that they invented an entire reserves league just to stop them from getting bored.

Years ago I was on a session in Workington of all places and bumped into Lee Peacocks dad who was clearly proud of his sons achievements. Tried to be polite but there can’t be many strikers who have played 10 games for City and not scored!
