I have a 5 year diary that I got as a Xmas pressie when I was 11

I wrote in it from time to time, glad I kept it, shows I was a budding genius ;)

Until recently I had a teddy bear that was the last thing my great aunt bought for me before she died. I was only a couple of months old when she bought it.
Its still looks new, partly because I never liked soft toys when I was a kid and it always felt a bit itchy anyway, but more because my mum put it away in a cupboard because of its sentimental value to her.
I found it again when my mum died and it was stuffed in another cupboard for years.
When my first grandchild was born I gave it to him. I've never seen him with it, probably because he found it as itchy as I did and his mum has probably got it stashed in a cupboard somewhere.
All that time in a cupboard. Poor fucking bear.

A City scarf I got as a Christmas present by a family friend in 1976. He died shortly after as he had cancer in his eye. He was a red and I can always remember him saying as he gave me the present "...it broke my heart buying you that.."
