It's a while ago now, but I think it was the first game of the season against Burnley. Sometime around '72. I'd have been 9 years old then.

It's greaty remenissing (sp) the old days at Maine Rd, how much has football changed? I think i prefered back then.. the atmospheres the standing terraces and without all the new rules and regulations of todays games, i even used to love watching saints and greavsie lol.

haha i did indeed and a peno for them in the 4th/5th mn of injury time to make it 3 3 iirc

I think I can beat you by just a few games De Niro - that Southampton game was near the end of the season as City were going for the Division 2 title,I think. I was at that one in the Platt Lane with my Dad and my Uncle Dek.
My first game was a few months earlier in the FA Cup vs. Leicester City (don,t know which round)and the game ended in a draw.(I was stood/sat on the wall at the front of the old Scoreboard End for this game).We beat them in the replay and eventually went on to play Everton in the quarter finals.There was a 2nd replay at Molinyeux and Dad and Uncle Dek went but they said i was to young to go to a mid-week away match as I was only 9 at the time.BTW we got beat by Everton,who went onto win the FA Cup that season.
