What things do you remember from Maine Road?

Standing in the top left corner of the kippax.

As many on here probably are bored of hearing - I used to live so close as to watch the games from my bedroom window as a kid.

So there is the matchday stuff and so much more but I will resist the temptation to bore everyone.

Plus my first match there, a 5-0 thrashing of Leicester City in the FA cup in 1996 I believe. I may be wrong.

The atmosphere in the Kippax on a midweek night game. use to sing alot more songs back then instead of the mostly repetitive songs of today.

I'll never forget anything about Maine Road ......

although i was born in the area where COMS now stands , Maine Road will always be our real home to me.

I remember a lad giving out a piece of paper with a song on it:

When I was a lad my dad said to me
are you going down to Wigan to watch the Rugby
I said no i don't think so
cos i'm going down to Maine Road for a bit of aggro.

Went with a bottle
went with a brick
hit a munich
ended up in the nick

singing na na na....

It never took off!!!!!!!!
