What time is it?

Because we may have to push him to a club he doesn't particularly fancy.

Bolton has collapsed, City pulled the plug and various other issues.

Don't nail me to the cross, but we have done a lot of leg work on Jordan Henderson in recent months.

We know his situation, the monies involved.

He is English and young, and the management team believe he is great in wide areas from his delivery.

Mancini likes he can play two positions.

Villa are adamant Young is not for sale to anyone.

If it is Henderson, it does fuck all for me im afraid, especially given the amount we will no doubt have to stump up because he is English.

Sooner take a more short term view, even loan in a player or 2 to fill the gaps until the summer and look to the EDS for our own Henderson tbh.
would have to agree does'nt get you over excited in fact probably the reverse but if this does happen then we have to believe mancini knows best, loan signings also decent idea...

If Sweep has put in a transfer request why would we have to pay him off?

Really not interested in him at all. Its all well and good believing that he can play in 2 positions but you would hope he would excel in at least one of them. Really underwhelming if this comes off. The form of Milner should put us off buying anyone English for ridiculously inflated fees from now on in!

I think you speak for many, certainly me,Henderson is nothing close to what we require.

It is indeed Milner's form being forced to play out wide and the inference that Bobby like players who can play in 2 positions that should get everyone's alarm bells ringing on this one.

You can imagine Rochdale etc wanting players that they can move about a pitch but we really shouldn't be needing to do this.

As Rammy has said, pace and trickery is the order of the day, not another over priced English midfielder that wont moan when asked to play as a winger....if we need a winger, buy a fucking winger!

I could understand if he was ripping up trees at Sunderland but I think he has had a handful of decent games all season. Although Milner has been poor for us you could at least see the reasoning behind the signing given the season he had at Villa!

Henderson is going to Utd in the summer.

Fergie barked and Bruce has rolled over to have his tummy tickled.

Done and dusted.

Are you telling me or City this?

Because, as it stands, irrespective of peoples' opinions on Henderson's talents, our club have been interested in him for months.

Yes, he's a red. Yes, he has failed to convince when I have seen him.

Yes, Bruce would prefer a pat on the head from Sir Alex. Facts remain, we are on the clock.

So what people are saying, he is good enough for United, but not for us?

Strange

Exactly. I said a few weeks ago that when we bought Milner I was under the impression we were buying him as a centre midfielder. If this was not the case, and we actually wanted a left winger, then we should have spent the £24 million, and whatever extra to break the bank for a top class winger eg Bale!

What I am saying is he isnt good enough for either. The difference between the clubs finances now though means that United have to take a chance on younger players at what they would class as a reasonable fee and hope they come good eg Smalling, Hernandez, Bebe. We can buy ready made quality, I would rather pay £20-£25 million on someone proven than £12-£15 million on someone like Henderson who may or may not come good!

I think the majority of us are just of an opinion that he is not what we need right now mate, that's all.

My point of view on Henderson is that the value has gone.
20 milion has been mentioned , which compared to aj who had a similar profile is extortionate. But on the other hand his wages would be more realistic than most.

It's not really a question of whether he's good enough for us, it's the fact that our squad is painfully lacking in pace at the moment, which he doesn't possess.

Ashley Young would be a sensible signing but unless he hears of our interest and throws his toys out of the pram, I can't see us getting him.

Aaron Lennon anyone?

A very one-dimensional player! But its a dimension we dont have. Doubt Spuds would sell though especially as its obvious we are in need
