What was more important?

We were winning the league with that goal. With Dzeko’s we were losing it but with just one more needed. His goal gets criminally overlooked imo, for obvious reasons of course.

I don't think it does by City fans. General football fans, sure, but that's unsurprising.

Without Zaba’s goal Dzeko’s means nothing.
The point is, if things had stayed as they were after rangers had gone 2-1 up and Aguero gets that same goal, it means nothing. I’m talking about that specific timeline. Dzeko’s goal to draw us level means a winner wins us the league. Without that leveller, it means nothing. You’re right, neither does that goal without zabbas but those specific circumstances that arose to win us the league, meaning people quite rightly but too easily say agueros is more important, well without Dzeko’s it’s meaningkess.

Without Dickov’s goal, the club would have barely kept afloat. Without Aguero’s goal, we’d have just won the league the next season instead. Not even a debate to be had.
We were more in trouble of going bust in 2007 than 1999.

You could argue that Mpenza's goal at Newcastle was just as important as Dickov's at Wembley or Kun's 93:20.

Heard there was a clause in stadium deal that stated we had to be promoted to the 1st Division (Championship) within 12 months or the deal would have been void. No stadium, no Sheik Mansour, so the Aguerro goal would have never been a possibility and we'd probably still be see-sawing between Championship and 1st Division! In those terms, definitely the Dickov goal is the most important!

Not sure if we've had a thread on this before, but as the title suggests what was more important?

Dickov's goal against Gillingham

Or

Aguero's against QPR

Tough call for me, but maybe without Dickov's goal we may have ended up being in league 1 or the championship for a long time and then ADUG might not have given us a second look or Thaksin for that matter!
Kevin Horlocks goal for me, he also scored his penalty in the shootout whereas PD missed his, churlish I know as both their goals put us on our great journey, for me though Horlock kick started the dream, we were dead and buried before that wonderful 90th minute strike ..

Mpenza’s Goal was crucial as was Wanchope’s a few seasons earlier. There have been many key moments leading to this success. We
Were fortunate not to concede a penalty in extra time in that Gillingham game. Looked a handball to me!
