What was the best looking fighter and bomber of WW2?

In my opinion the most beautifully pure aircraft shape was the Hawker Hunter.

The Spitfire..mainly because we'd all be speaking German if it wasn't for those brave men in those great aircraft.

The iconic Lancaster bomber.

The Spitfire was the glamourous one but the not so sexy Hurricane shot down more enemy aircraft I think. I've probably got that wrong as well but I'm certain that someone will put me right if that's the case.
I always feel quite emotional whenever I hear the sound of the Spitfire's Merlin engine.

As I mentioned earlier, but have since been corrected, I always believed that they were Fairey Swordfish. I vaguely remember the Faith, Hope and Charity. Were those just three names of a larger fleet? Surely it can't have been just the three of them left could it?

The Swordfish was a fleet air arm machine even more obsolete than the gladiator. Despite more than living up to its nick name of "Stringbag" it also was involved in heroic actions including managing to wreak havoc by torpedoing the Italian navy. I would recommend reading "war in a stringbag" brilliant account of some proper heroics and boys own stuff during WW2.
